It’s interesting to reflect on the last 20 years and consider how fixed screenwriting has become in pop culture. Witness an article in New York magazine with the breathless title, “We’ve Got Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Inglorious Bastards’ Script. Granted, it is Quentin Tarantino we’re talking about, but the fact that the general public is salivating over a screenplay… well, safe to say things have changed since Syd Field popped the proverbial cherry for screenwriting guru wannabes with his 1984 book “Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting”.
In any event, I’m really looking forward to Inglorious Bastards. I’ve still got a hard copy screenplay of Tarantino’s first hit movie Resevoir Dogs (1992) and have admired him as a writer and director ever since.
