One of my favorite movie critics, the NY Times A.O. Scott weighs in with his overview of this year’s movies. There are a lot of these type of lists at the end of the year and I’ll be posting some of what I think are the most important. Scott is definitely worth reading. Here’s his list of favorite movies in 2008:
WALL-E
SILENT LIGHT
THE SECRET OF THE GRAIN
MAN ON WIRE
THE EDGE OF HEAVEN
HAPPY-GO-LUCKY
WENDY AND LUCY
MILK
RACHEL GETTING MARRIED
CADILLAC RECORDS
How about your list?

From what I’ve seen…
The Dark Knight
WALL-E
Step Brothers
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Cloverfield
Iron Man
Sweeney Todd
…and I’m sure many more that I’m forgetting
It’s always hard to remember the ones from before May, too.
Haven’t seen enough of the offerings to comprise an educated list. Planning on seeing “Slumdog Millionare” this weekend and one other flick, as I got a Regal movie card for Christmass.
DID see “Quantum of Solace” yesterday after my dad turned in an Avon ticket good at Regal theatre where the show was being disconitued after Christamss eve. Had the whole theatre to ourselves, and gosh how that movie STUNK. Only redeaming quality was that Olga K., Bond girl. I gotta get me one of those! (Maybe next Christmas — now that I know what I want)
