Pitch sale: "How Could You Do This To Me?"

Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Films buy comedy pitch “How Could You Do This To Me?” from writers Andy Marx and Andrea King as a potential starring vehicle for Miranda Cosgrove:

Cosgrove will play a teen who feels that the divorce of her parents has improved her life. When mom and dad appear to be rekindling sparks, their daughter feels threatened and tries to break them up.

Dan Halsted will be exec producer. He manages Marx & King through his company Manage-ment.

UPDATE: In the comments, the ‘similar but different’ point came up. Thought it would be good to mention one of the most valuable tools for generating concepts — Halliwell’s Film Guide which I posted about here. Over 24,000 movie loglines. Rife for genre-, gender-, race-bending.

  1. Such a simple twist on a traditional story opening all sorts of possibilities. I am guilty as a writer, as you may be too, of being too much in my own head instead of keeping an ear out for these little kernals to insinuate themselves into your imagination. an example on the same theme my sister is divorced and her daughter was boasting of how much more stuff she gets, and how much more she gets away with, she calls it guilt giving and she plays both parents off against each other, no doubt what happens in this story.
