Warner Bros. picks up “Conviction” from writer Jonathan Herman:

Story follows a mastermind bank robber who serves five years in prison following a botched heist. He is forced by an FBI agent to entrap his protege, who’s in the midst of a multimillion-dollar job.

This represents first sale for Herman:

Sale is the first for Herman, who began as an assistant to producer Tom Sternberg and was a development exec for Canal Plus before he quit three years ago to write full time.
