Sounds like Raleigh novelist, Michael Jasper’s book: "The Wannoshay Cycle".
His logline: 'This novel takes place not too many years from now, and it tells the story of what happens when aliens arrive and try to integrate into society, and how humans react to these sudden changes.'
Man, just when you think there's nothing new under the sun and everything's been done before, eh?
Even though it appears inspired by a wealth of past sci-fi literature (a dash of Childhood's End, a pinch of Heinlein…), this particular stew reeks of originality.
I saw this attached to 'Bruno' yesterday and my first reaction was that this was a trailer for 'Childhood's End'. Alas, that is still stuck in development hell, but this still looks amazing. Hopefully it will stick to the political conflict instead of making it into your standard alien fare. The short was amazing and this looks so good.
Very cool–

Keep Writing!
Jaw dropping.

That trailer made my day, to be sure!
I've been a science fiction fan since forever so I would probably go see this no matter what, but it definitely looks like a good one.
Ditto what Jeff and Alissa said. They're sooo smart…

Did the MPAA change the green band trailer text recently?
"The following preview has been approved for APPROPRIATE AUDIENCES…"
Seems rather circular.
Re Papageiena's comment, here is the Wikipedia page on "Childhood's End," the Arthur Clarke novel.
