SEATTLE, WA - November 30, 2009 - OFFICIAL BEST OF FEST, an international posse of film curators, who through their collective film festivals and contacts manage to see the majority of the 25,000 films made every year, have launched a series of 'The Best Films You've Never Seen".We certainly do complain around here - me included - about the lack of quality movies being produced in Hwood. This group is doing something about that:
That is what OFFICIAL BEST OF FEST aims to do---"help a quality starved public, junk-food fed audience get cinematic nourishment", says [Rick] Stevenson. "These films are not for everyone. Unlike studio films they are not theme-park movies that have been genetically engineered to appeal to the lowest common denominator. But that's what makes them special. That's what gives them a 'voice'. That's what speaks to the discerning viewer."Rick Stevenson is a long-time Seattle based writer-director-producer. He's not only involved in the Official Best of Fest, but also several other 'causes' as he notes on his website including TheFilmSchool.
The Official Best of Fest offers several compilations of movies including:
*Award-winning films that INSPIREOr as they put it, "The best films you've never seen."
*Award-winning films to make you LAUGH
*Award-winning films about REAL PEOPLE
*Award-winning films for FAMILY
*Award-winning CHICK FLICKS
*Award-winning films for KIDS
*Award-winning films for DOG LOVERS

Holy cow! It's happening. Everything you predicted in your post the other day, how the 'net will become a viable force in cinema...
This is proof. This isn't some cheesy, slipshod site, this is beautifully thought out and smartly crafted.
Scott, what are your thoughts on Netflix and their streaming offerings? They have a device called the Roku that'll slap it right on your TV, you can stream titles on your PC, and I hear that Playstation 3 and many BluRay players now link up to Netflix's library.
Their library of 20,000 or more titles available for instant access.
I hear they were going to, already are, or are planning to distribute original content as well. Another potential outlet presents itself.
Viva la revolucion!!
