Quentin Tarantino's top 8 films of 2009 (so far)

Courtesy of THR:

Are you surprised that a certain Paramount sci-fi summer blockbuster is #1 on his list?

I was more surprised at number 2. Had a lot of fun at that one, but didn't think that much of it.

I didn't realize number 5 was a 2009 movie. Just saw it, and it totally blew my mind. Exceeded all expectations. That'll probably be number two on my 2009 list. It's currently on the Netflix On-Demand service, strongly recommend it to anyone who likes martial arts flicks. Of course like most martial arts films, don't expect brilliant writing.

Of all the screenwriters who have ever existed is ANYONE as colorful and fun as Quentin Tarantino? Dude is INTERESTING!

STAR TREK remains one of the most overrated blockbusters of the decade.

Seriously - am I the only person on earth who liked "Public Enemies?" I thought for sure old Quentin would put it on his list.

Ryan H, I couldn't agree with you more -- I really found it lacking when it came to Kirk's story. The whole thing relies on the trademark.

And why was Kirk chosen? He didn't display any skills that are worthy of being in the Academy -- just because his father was a hero wasn't a good enough reason. The guy's a total loser, why would I want him to lead a crew, or give him a chance? WHY?
