Thanks to GITS reader Robert Fuller for giving me the heads-up re this video interview on FORA.tv with screenwriter-director David Lynch. Lynch, whose writing credits include Eraserhead (1977), The Elephant Man (1980), Dune (1984), Blue Velvet (1986), Wild at Heart (1990), Lost Highway (1997), Mulholland Dr. (2001), and Inland Empire (2006), discusses in the interview how "Twin Peaks" came about, the theme of Wild at Heart, inspiration for The Straight Story, and bizarre sexuality of Blue Velvet. But per Robert, pay special attention about 7 minutes into the interview because Lynch talks about a meeting he had with George Lucas to possibly direct Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi. Can you imagine what that creative collation would have resulted in?
