"The Worst Movies Of The Past Decade"

From Huffington Post:
The past ten years have brought us such cinematic disasters as 'Glitter' and 'Battlefield Earth,' so there were plenty of bad movies to choose from. But which is the worst of the worst?
Their list:
Daddy Day Camp (2007)

Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 (2000)

Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002)

Disaster Movie (2008)

The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002)

I Know Who Killed Me (2007)

Swept Away (2002)

Catwoman (2004)

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

Imagine That (2009)

Glitter (2001)

Witless Protection (2008)

Freddy Got Fingered (2001)

Strange Wilderness (2008)

Gigli (2003)

Basic Instinct 2 (2006)
Per this list, 2008 had the most stinkers (4) followed by 2002 (3).

Special nod to Eddie Murphy who's on the list twice.

I've seen Indiana Jones, Gigli, and Freddy Got Fingered. Think I'd have to go with Gigli as the worst of those three.

How about you? Which of these was your worst movie-going experience? What awful movies did they omit from the list?

I've only seen Indy 4 off of that list, but my personal decade "Worst of" wouldn't be complete without these, in no particular order:

The Life Aquatic
Transformers: Rise of the Fallen
G.I. Joe
Van Helsing
The Spirit
The Producers remake
Crash
Twilight

I'm sure the Scary/Date/Disaster Movies all deserve a place there, but I haven't seen most of them.

Was "Daddy Day Camp" a spin off on "Daddy Day Care"?

If so even Eddie Murphy's Spin-off got hammered.

I'm going to add to that list. I have to go with Bitter Script Reader, on--

Transformers 2 aka the BOOM movie

G.I. Joe

I didn't see the others.

Add to that

Max Payne or Max Pure Pain Watching

Terminator Salvation or Salavation.

"Sin City" (2005) Frank Miller/Robert Rodrigez: SO BAD I couldn't sit through the whole show.

"Ultraviolet" (2006) Mila Jovoich Tagline: "First they made her a weapon. That was their second deadliest mistake. Now they've made her a weapon." WTF!!

"Just Like Heaven" (2005) Reese Witherspoon/Mark Ruffalo.

Indy 4 has a special place in the septic tank for me... only because it was such a soul sucking disappointment.

The thing is, a bad movie is a bad movie. If you're going to go see something with the word MOVIE in the title (SCARY movie, EPIC movie, etc.), you pretty much know what you're getting into and you deserve everything you get. Additionally, if Mila Jovovich is anywhere on the cast list, God help you. You should have your movie viewing licence revoked.

But Indy 4? I mean, this was a relatively smart, classy franchise. As this nightmarish film unspooled before me, I progressively got sicker and sicker to my guts. I seldom leave the theater ENRAGED but Indy 4 wrought that reaction from me. Even Transformers 2, which depressed me and numbed me (kinda' felt lobotomized after that one, which is probably the filmmakers' desired response?) didn't make me go home and hit a heavy bag for an hour.

Oddly enough, I purchased Indy 4 when it hit DVD and I had to view it a few more times. There was just no way it could have been THAT bad right? It just caught me on a bad day, right?

Wrong. It's a foul turd in a fedora.

So INDY 4 - Kingdom of the Crystal Colostomy Bag or whatever it was called has my vote as the decade's worst, hands down.

I hear Lucas and company might reunite for another? Lovely. Looks like the next decade's worst is in development as we speak.

Oh and since the Reader who is Bitter invoked Southland Tales, I should follow that up with THE BOX.

Oy.

Not the decades worst movie but possibly it's most misguided. It was a beautiful train wreck, fascinating to watch. I had read the Matheson short tale upon which it is based and they pretty much did the whole story in Act 1.

And then there's the REST of the movie.

As I stated above.... oy.

I think, actually, I LOVED The Box, because it was such an entertaining disaster. Anything but boring. Preposterous, inept, downright bipolar in spots, but not boring. Could be stated in the same breath as Plan 9 and Glen or Glenda.

Richard Kelly a modern day Edward D. Wood Jr.?! Time will tell!

Idiocracy should get listed twice.

"Idiocracy" has turned into one of those bad movies, I watch with glee and embarrassment.
