"Bo's Cafe Life"

One of the benefits of blogging is the surprising and wonderful people I meet. Almost everyday, I get emails from creative types with interesting backgrounds and stories to tell. Just this week, I received an email from Wayne Pollard:
Hello Scott:

I came across your blog while searching for postings about Anne Lamott. (You posted a quote by her on January 11th.) If you liked Bird by Bird, I think you'll like my recent comic strips about the book (starting on January 18th). I write a comic strip about cafe life and the writing life called Bo's Cafe Life. Authors, writers, editors and literary agents who blog (such as Janet Reid, Nathan Bransford, and The Rejectionist) find it funny.

Bo's Cafe Life is my look at the writing life through the eyes of Bo, an aspiring novelist who spends his time in a café writing and talking to other writers who are also on the quest to get a book deal. It has an ensemble cast of characters - ranging from a blogger to a Bollywood screenwriter – and they use humor to expose the highs and lows of being writers. It is a funny but honest look at the writing life.

BACKGROUND: I'm an experienced writer; my work has been in publications such as The New York Times, The Village Voice, Writer's Digest, Writer's Digest Guide to Writing Nonfiction, The Huffington Post, and many other publications. I also wrote for the business sections of two Gannett-owned newspapers. My comic strip is based on my experience.

I'm not going to say that you'll find it hilarious, but I do think it will make you smile.
I checked it out - and it did make me smile.

So far all you GITS readers who are inclined to hang out with the local baristas and sip your a venti strawberries n creme frappaccino while tapping away on your MacBook Pro in an attempt to figure out ever more nefarious ways to mess with your story's Protagonist, be sure to visit "Bo's Cafe Life" here for some comic relief.

Besides anybody who digs Annie Lamott is a-okay in my book!
