My mother is actually down there right now. She went down for the purpose of providing medical relief BEFORE the earthquake. I can't imagine what it's like now.
She actually arrived in Port-Au-Prince only three to four hours before the quake hit, but was thankfully headed to Les Cayes almost immediately and found herself outside of the most dangerous zone when it got bad.
Didn't hear from her until 6:30 AM yesterday, though, due to downed cell phone towers. As you can imagine, that was a pretty scary night.
If you don't mind, I'd like to put the URL to her site here. I imagine once communication gets better she'll be updating it regularly like she usually does when she's down there.
