I recently started to take sketch comedy classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles. It’s been great so far, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to expand their comedy portfolio.The great thing about learning and writing sketch comedy at the UCB is how it has translated into my other projects. The UCB prides itself on the Game technique. Basically, finding the joke of the scene as soon as possible and hitting that joke in as many ways possible. Now, in my other scripts, I try to economize my dialogue and get to the point or the joke as soon as possible, because otherwise it can be a lot of dead air.
Anyways, I’ve recently started to film my sketches and here is the first one.
