Movies You Made: "At Least the Devil is Honest"

A few days ago, we looked at a short script written by The GITS Club member Matt Latham. Here is the film version:

Congrats, Matt, on completing this project.

Perhaps time to run another “Moves You Made” series? If you’ve been involved in writing, directing, acting, and/or producing a short film, comedy sketch video, or feature length movie, please post background information and embed links in comments. Or you can email me.

  1. Looks fantastic!

A historic day for The GITS Club… we got to read the script and see it played out, all in record time!

Thank you so much Matt for sharing your work with us… and, for heaven's sake, please keep doing so!

  2. Thanks so much for posting it, Scott! And I'm glad you liked it, Jeff.

I hope y'all noticed that I gave a special thanks to this site and the GITS Club.

  3. Random, but I really like the style of the titles/credits. Nice choice. And that interaction at the end worked really well.

  4. Thought this was pretty entertaining. Good job, Matt.

I think the monologue would've played better if it was sort of neurotic and almost rushed, like he was literally purging it, without interruption with her semi-shocked face the only response. It's just so long to begin with and "on screen" it drags an extra minute and a half or so.

But overall, it was great. Keep it up! Stuff like this will get you into CalArts (if you're interested anyway).

  5. Great job matt, definitely great to watch it play out after reading it. Missed the devil drying himself with the hand dryer part… hehe… This was excellent though, well done!

  6. Late, but I'm going to disagree with Gartett. I thought the monologue worked the way you filmed it, while I don't know if it would have worked rushed. And the way the actor performed those lines was great, while the opening performance was less so.
